Spivi's platform adds new Wear OS compability for Android devices

Spivi, which provides interactive displays, leaderboards, gamification and performance tracking to gyms, has added new smartwatch connectivity to its platform. The system connects fitness groups by capturing heart rate data wirelessly from participants’ wearables, such as heart rate monitors and smart watches, using the Spivi.Connect app.

On 1 March the app is launching for Wear OS (Android devices), which will extend the platform’s compatibility across a gym operator’s user base making it easier for members to join. Up until this date, integrations have included ANT+ devices (such as Garmin and Wahoo Fitness), Polar BLE devices and the Apple Watch.

“Letting members use their wearables and smartwatches will help many operators ease the onboarding process and enhance engagement,” said Shay Amir, Spivi’s CEO. “Spivi provides the most comprehensive and gamified solution for gyms and studios.”

Spivi offers indoor cycling experiences through Spivi Studio, which includes a 3D virtual ride experience and real time performance tracking. Spivi MetriX is described as “pure cycling data tracking” with fitness tests, club challenges, color-coded views and a live leaderboard. The metrics gathered during sessions include power, cadence, speed, distance, energy and calories.

Spivi Arena provides tests and challenges for group fitness classes during which live stats are displayed. This solution also has a built-in class scheduler and integrations with, among others, Mariana Tek, Gym Master, ABC, Mindbody and Virtuagym. A performance analysis and workout summary are also supplied to gym members after class.
